RiverCity Water Polo
RiverCity Water Polo Club is Brisbane's leading club for junior water polo development and home to many of Queensland's state and national representatives.
The RiverCity Philosophy
At RiverCity Water Polo Club, we are passionate advocates for an amazing sport that keeps kids active all year round. We firmly believe that community sports should revolve around fun and friendships and our commitment lies in supporting every player's Water Polo journey. When it comes to deciding whether to play for school or the club, we believe this decision should be made by the player and their family.
We also strive to provide our young athletes with every opportunity for success. To achieve this, we have assembled a coaching team with both extensive coaching and playing experience. Our philosophy's success is not only reflected in our achievements in BWPI competitions but also in the numerous selections of our young athletes (and coaches) at the State, National, and International levels.
Whether you're looking for an enjoyable recreational experience or aiming for higher goals, RiverCity looks forward to being a part of your journey.
Competitions, Events, and Training
RiverCity enters teams in competitions, carnivals and events for U12-U18 age groups and open adults. This includes the following regular competitions
- Brisbane summer season - juniors (terms 4 and 1) to Premier League
- Queensland State Titles
- Australian Youth Championships
Throughout the year other carnivals and events are organised by clubs and peak bodies both locally and nationally. RiverCity tries hard to support these events and provide our members the chance to participate for fun and development.
For our younger athletes, we offer the Junior Sharks program for ages 7-12, which focuses on developing skills and confidence in preparation for joining U12 teams. Additionally, our popular Winter Training Program runs through Terms 2 and 3, helping players of all ages stay fit, hone their skills, and prepare for the upcoming season.
All programs are led by our experienced coaching team, who strike the perfect balance between development and enjoyment.
