Opportunities for fun and development

At RiverCity, we are dedicated to fostering our players' development and ensuring they enjoy their experience. We believe that these two objectives can complement each other rather than conflict.

The club enters teams in a variety of competitions and events, from beginners to elite, to help everyone on their next step in their water polo journey.

Regular Season

Water polo’s peak season is during the summer, with the main Brisbane competition typically running in Term 4 and Term 1, with a break over December and January.

Representative Opportunities

RiverCity also enters teams each year into the Australian Youth Championship and Queensland State Titles which serve as major selection events for the national and state squads.

Future Players

The club also offers the Junior Sharks program for younger athletes aged 7-12, providing an excellent introduction to water polo and preparing them for their first season in an U12 team. This program is a great way for young players to have fun and develop their skills.

Carnivals and events

Throughout the year, various carnivals and events are organised by clubs and peak bodies at local and national levels. RiverCity is committed to supporting these events and providing opportunities for our members to participate for fun and development.
